The Chess Realm was once a place of perfect harmony — sixteen sacred pieces maintaining cosmic balance across a boundless board. Then the Black King listened to whispers from beyond the squares, and everything broke.

The White King sacrificed himself, shattering the realm into thirty stratified layers to contain the corruption. His essence lingers in the stones. His brother still sits on his throne at the bottom, waiting.

You are the champion the White King's sacrifice was meant to summon. Descend through thirty floors of the Gambit Stratums, collect artifacts of forgotten battles, and end the eternal game.

How It Plays

King's Gambit fuses roguelike deck-building strategy with real chess mechanics. Every room is a chess battle — you move your pieces, the AI moves its own, and the goal is always checkmate. But the board you bring into each fight is shaped by everything you've collected along the way.

Build your army — Start each run with a small loadout of pieces and expand it by winning battles. Choose between pawns, knights, bishops, rooks, and queens, placing them exactly where you want them on the board.

Find items and relics — Passive items modify your starting board before every fight: extra pieces on the field, enemies weakened, or the AI's thinking depth reduced. Active items can be unleashed mid-battle for immediate impact.

Navigate the map — A procedurally generated 30-floor node map connects battles, elite encounters, shops, and story events. Each floor feels different, and every path leads somewhere worth going.

Meet the world — The Chess Realm is populated with broken souls: the Fallen Rook still standing after being shattered at stratum seven, the Pawn Choir who never reached promotion, the Hooded Bishop who survived the Schism by selling neutrality. Each one has something to give, and something to say.
